Humans or Not? Part 2

Pakistanis of all supporting and spiritual persuasions were uniformly angered by the disastrous death of their soldiers caused by an arbitrary air attack by the Nato forces. Pakistani soldiers, posted at a boundary post in Mohmand region, were ruthlessly attacked by Nato planes and helicopters killing 24 and injuring several more.

While this outbreak of sorrow is explicable and defensible, I wonder as to why other acts of violence against sectarian minorities in Pakistan have not stimulated the same grief and rage that we are witnessing today
The purpose here is to spot out the lack of or, at best, muted response to the ridiculous brutality committed against sectarian minorities in Pakistan by those animals who call themselves pious Muslims.

September 2011 when 29 Shias from Quetta’s Hazara community were killed in a intentional assault. They were going to Iran in a bus that was stoped near Mustang by armed militants who killed 29 while seriously injured several others. Compared to the anger and grief over the death of 24 soldiers, the reaction to Hazara murders has been silent at best. The list of community leaders from Punjab and Sindh who visited Quetta to condole with the Hazaras is very small and did not include any typical politician. Not even 50 students from a Punjab-based University demonstrated in harmony with the Shias of Quetta even when Shia academics were being killed by the militants belonging to banned outfits (Professor Danish Alam). However, thousands marched in Lahore today for the slain soldiers while being led by their professors.

And how to forget the barbaric attack on procession of Ashura in 2009. This leads me to a question not about our patriotism but about our religion. Are we correct in labeling ourselves as MUSLIMS or even HUMANS???

Countless in Pakistan believe that the Nato’s attack in Mohmand is an assault on Pakistan’s independence. If autonomy implies “having supreme, independent power over a geographic area” then Pakistan has lost sovereignty in most of its areas including majority of Balochistan and KP. Hundreds of Shia victims are proof that the State has lost control and is unable to neutralize banned outfits. This again leads me to a question,

If Govt of Pakistan and our security agencies are unable to control these outfits, should we as ordinary citizens think that these untamed brutal animals wearing mask of Muslims are getting support from people belonging to Government and security agencies?????

Latest NATO strike

Pakistan is annoyed at the U.S. for by chance or intentionally killing 24 of its soldiers in a helicopter incident along the Afghanistan border. It’s certainly angry enough to cut off NATO supply routes for the war and order the U.S. out of its major Pakistani base for the drone war. But it’s not angry enough to stop U.S. drones and other planes from flying over its territory — which is one of the only steps the Pakistanis can take that really would mess up America’s shadow war on its turf.

Usually, Pakistan just threatens to kick U.S. aircraft out of Shamsi. This time, they’ve sent the U.S. an expulsion notice: clear out in 15 days.

But it’s not like giving up Shamsi means the drones bundle up and fly home. Most likely, they’ll travel across the Afghanistan border, for launch pads purpose for drones and other U.S. warplanes.

If the Pakistanis reject the U.S. its airspace, though, that’s a much bigger deal. Operationally, Pakistan army would have to move in anti-aircraft guns to challenge any drone or war planes which constantly intrude Pakistani air space. And such a move is not on cards after looking at past 10 years

But it would mean that the U.S. is actively prosecuting a war on Pakistani soil against the wishes of the Pakistani government or is it with the wishes of Islamabad?

But even if the Pakistanis aren’t keeping U.S. aircraft out of their skies, kicking American functioning out of Shamsi still carries danger for them. Suppose that expelling the U.S. from Shamsi is intended to show Pakistani citizens that their government is standing up to Washington. But the next time U.S. drones attack the tribal areas, they’ll make the Pakistani government look powerless.

Incident at Numaish

Pakistan’s greatest enemy today is the enemy within. Heart breaking scenes were witnessed on funeral of the two young volunteer scouts i.e. Syed Azhar Hussain and Syed Zainul Abdin who were shot dead by people returning from rally of banned outfit.

Major questions arise after such incident. Firstly who approved a banned outfit to take out rally in open? Secondly if they succeeded in taking out such a rally; what were our so called security agencies doing?

Time in and time out this banned outfit has proved that they are and never were in favor of a peaceful Pakistan. Their ancestors at time of creation of Pakistan opposed an independent sovereign state for Muslims in South Asia.

Incident which took place at Numaish is a clear indication that there are culprit people who have soft corner for this fanatic ideology which believes that nobody accept them are pious Muslims. It is time that the government also realizes that by announcing monetary compensations isn’t the replacement for people who have lost their loved ones. What these people who have been suppressed want is justice to be done with those who are constantly killing innocent people just because they believe in some different sect.

And justice would require our judicial system to not let these animals run freely if they are caught.

Message of Karbala

In the Name of God the Merciful the Compassionate
“And do not speak of those who are slain in Allah’s way as dead; nay they are alive, but you do not perceive.”

Ashura the day, on which the martyrs of Karbala drew with their living the ineffaceable line between faith and disbelief, between truth and falsehood, between justice and tyranny, and between those who are really alive and between those whose conscience is dead although they do not perceive. In the light of the verse that we quoted to you above, it is the remembrance of the martyrs that has saved the living from becoming conscientiously dead, as is the case with societies devoid of the concept of martyrdom or the sense to commemorate those who sacrificed their life to keep humanitarian values alive.

In Islam revolutions as well as political and social movements throughout history have carried messages and ideals which have been usually limited to specific time, place and circumstances. But the uprising of Imam Hussein (a.s.) and Karbala brings everlasting messages for the entire humanity. The ideals of this glorious and unique uprising are shining like a bright light for mankind showing the way towards prosperity in life and salvation in the hereafter. The emphasis is on freedom in Islam.
